Origin of the most famous Czech lager
Our tank pub is located in the cellar of Klub Ex.
Until March 2018 we operated as a renowned pub in Jablonec. But because we wanted you offer you the best from the world of hops, we decided to replace Pilsner Urquell beer in kegs with unpasteurised tank beer stored in double-walled copper tanks, which you can’t see anywhere else in North Bohemia.
The building modifications (which took over a month) resulted in complete renovation of the original cooling box, installation of a new beer distribution system, a bar with the newest beer glass chilling bath technology and thermal units, which ensure final cooling of the entire beer distribution system leading all the way to the restaurant on the floor above.
Thanks to the intensive work of experienced craftsmen and all our employees, we were able to ceremonially open the first Pilsner Urquell tank pub in Jablonec in May 2018, with the attendance of the head brewmasters from Plzeň.
As well as twelve-degree lager, you can also enjoy another 4 varieties of draft beer, which we regularly alternate.
The key principle for beer care
The finished beer is pumped from the tank at the brewery into tank trucks, without undergoing pasteurisation. There are usually 2 tanks on the truck, each of a volume of approx. 1,000 litres. At the restaurant the beer is pumped into tanks of a volume of 500 litres, located inside the pub. There are 2 tanks in the cooling box and 2 /double-walled, copper, with their own cooling circuit/ tanks located right next to the bar in the pub.
The beer is stored in a special impermeable polypropylene bag inside the stainless steel tanks. In order to keep everything perfectly hygienic a new, absolutely sterile bag is used for each delivery of beer. The beer is pushed into the pipe by pumping air between the wall of the tank and the bag. The air from the compressor does not come into contact with the beer, which means that the beer retains its unique flavour and bite, just like freshly drawn beer at the brewery.
In order to continue to retain this flavour we sanitize not only the taps, but also the entire beer distribution system, using alkali or acid substances approved exclusively by the Food Chamber, on a regularly weekly basis. It is also thanks to this thorough maintenance of the beer distribution system that we can boast a certificate for excellent care of our beer.
